Players aged 4-14 will have the opportunity to train with Surf’s “best of the best” coaching staff during a week-long camp session that will culminate with the Montana Surf World Cup tournament. Campers will begin the week with skill progressive sessions and small-sided games focused on individual player development. Mid-week, campers will be placed on a team representing one of the countries that competed in the World Cup. Coaches will turn the focus to team play and game strategy in preparation for Friday’s tournament.

On Friday, parents will be invited to join campers for the Opening Ceremony, Parade of Nations and the Montana Surf World Cup.

Montana Surf camps are designed to provide players with a soccer environment that is fun, educational and developmental. Each day campers will receive quality coaching that follows the Surf Nation coaching curriculum and that emphasizes Montana Surf core values: mastery, teamwork, sportsmanship and skill, unity and integrity, resilience and responsibility, and fun. Players will work on dribbling and running with the ball, passing and shooting, defending and tackling, and receiving and ball control.

Camp week will include quality instruction and personal attention to players. Players will engage in a variety of activities and games, appropriate to their developmental level, while strengthening existing skills. Campers will work on technical, tactical, and mental aspects of the game, while growing their enthusiasm and confidence.

YTI Competitive Camp

MT Surf is proud to offer a Competitive Option to our YTI Camp. This camp is intended for players who currently play club or high school soccer, or will be entering high school in the Fall. Our Competitive camp is designed to prepare & develop these players for High School tryouts and beyond.

These high intensity training sessions will blend advanced technical and tactical concepts to challenge players by getting them out of their normal comfort zones, and to help players solve in-game problems presented to them on both the attacking & defensive sides of the ball.

Spots are limited for the competitive camp – sign up today!

Coach Bio – Matt Prewett
Matt Prewett served as Head Coach of the University of Texas Men’s Soccer team for 14 seasons, from 2004-2017. He guided them to several conference championships, Regional Tournament championships, and appearances at the National Tournament, including six Sweet 16 appearances and one Final Four qualification. He worked through his coaching badges while at UT, and currently holds a USSF ‘A’ Coaching License. After the birth of his 2nd and 3rd daughters, Prewett stepped away from the Club to commit more time to his family, but still helps support the Club via Alumni Association fundraising.

Coach Prewett played collegiate soccer at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN from 1997-2000, serving as a Captain his junior and senior seasons. He earned multiple conference honors during his four years, and was voted Team MVP his Junior Season. He returned to Rhodes for a 5th academic year to earn his Masters in Accounting, and served as an Assistant Coach for the team, which allowed him to transform his passion for soccer into the coaching realm.

After college, Coach Prewett moved back to Austin, Texas and became involved with playing and leadership with Austin Thunder, previously a semi-pro club that now fields teams in the Open Premier, Over-30 Premier, Over-40 Premier, and Over-50 Premier age groups of Austin Men’s Soccer Association. He also began serving in leadership roles within AMSA, the largest adult amateur soccer league in Austin with over 110 teams and 3000+ players spanning broad age and competitive levels, and is currently serving a 2nd term as President.

For his full-time profession, he is the Broker + Owner of Better Broker, Texas Realty, a residential real estate firm based in Austin, Texas. He has coached in the YTI Soccer Experience Camps since 2016.
